The big picture around enrollment in the United States and revenue from tuition continues to paint a challenging picture. By 2025-2026, the US is predicted to hit a peak in high school graduates, followed by a decline in available college-age students. As a result, more than ever, universities will need to look towards their alumni for philanthropic support and to help address all the institution’s strategic challenges — admissions and enrollment particularly.
But what’s the best way to involve alumni in the admissions process as volunteers, and how are strong partnerships formulated between alumni and enrollment teams? In addition, alumni often look towards their alma mater for advice on the admissions process when their teenage child is considering where to attend college.
We’ll tackle these questions and more with our excellent panel of admissions and alumni engagement experts featuring Leigh Weisenburger, Vice President of Enrollment and Dean of Admissions & Financial Aid at Bates College, Rick Clark, Assistant Vice President for Undergraduate Enrollment at Georgia Tech, and Sarah Fay Waller, Director of the Admissions Liaison Program at the University of Virginia Alumni Association.
