LSE STUDENT LOOKING FOR SECTOR OPPORTUNITIES

By MAX LEISTEN

Entering the development sector might seem like finding your way through a maze, but connecting with alumni can light the way. It’s not just about getting answers; it’s about building relationships, staying curious, and seizing every chance that comes your way.

Amazing to see over 100% of alumni who opened the request offer help.

Keep it simple!

The "ask"

Hi, I am currently studying Political Economy of Late Development and I have an internship from June to the end of September at KfW in Frankfurt.

I would like to know whether KfW has a record of taking in interns as a full-time employee or whether anyone has suggestions on where to find work in the development sector in Germany.

I unfortunately don’t speak French or Spanish (yet), but I am learning Spanish now and will add French later on. Since I don’t speak the languages typically for development I am not sure how easy it will be to find a job or whether I should go for internships first.

I appreciate any help I can get. Thank you so much for taking your time! Have a nice day 🙂

The "give" (1 of 5)

Hi! After graduating from LSE I have been working for KfW Development Bank for the last 20 years. The classical entry point for a permanent position at KfW Development Bank for University Graduates is the FZ-Trainee Program.

For this, you should have some knowledge of development policy and speak German and English fluently, and moderate knowledge of another world language (e.g. French or Spanish). If you have more questions, you can give me a call.
