DKE SOPHOMORE INTERESTED IN ENTERING A FINANCE CAREER

By MAX LEISTEN

Breaking into a new industry can feel like huge challenge. That’s where networks truly shine. Connecting with someone who cares about you and is willing to “show you the ropes” or take a chance on you.

Meet a determined University of Minnesota sophomore reaching out to his DKE brothers for his first internship (which is exactly what Greek organizations are made for: community!).

Not only did he get six responses, but the engagement shows the strong affinity amongst DKE brothers:

  • Contacted Alumni: 14
  • Email Open Rate: 78%
  • Clickthrough Rate: 42%
  • Engagement Rate: 45%
  • Alumni Profile Updates: 3

Keep it simple!

The "ask"

Hi, I am a Sophomore majoring in finance at the University of Minnesota.  I am an active member and the Brother Beta of the Phi Epsilon chapter.

I have been trying to break into a finance career but have difficulty getting started.  I am open to networking and learning from anyone already in the field and can offer any career advice or help getting an internship.  I have had trouble getting my foot in the door and am confident that once I am given a shot, I can thrive.

Thank you very much for your assistance.

The "give" (1 of 6)

Hi! I’m happy to do a call if that would be helpful. I’m a hedge fund manager. Class of ‘81 Lambda (Kenyon).

Send me your resume to my email at *******. I’ll look at it and we can set up a call. ITB.
